Petroglyphs in Kokan
A petroglyph is an image created by removing part of a rock surface by incising, picking, carving, or abrading, as a form of rock art. This documentary is about the petroglyphs that are found in Konkan. It covers the processes that take place after finding these sites as, collecting references, cleaning to documentation. It shows the different studies about the petroglyphs relating to the geographical context, natural environment, its age, subject matter and multi-faceted study of these sites. Some petroglyphs most likely hold a deep cultural and religious significance for the societies that created them.
This documentary also encompasses its analysis and importance of conservation. It is important to make it available for the people to get a basic understanding. We aim at making people aware of their rich heritage & generate local employment as well as tourism.
